I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around,
and don't let anybody tell you different

99 minutes of Me'Shell

Back in June, I missed Me'Shell NdegéOcello in New York by one lousy day. Here's something that helped me get over the pain: A 99-minute video of Me'Shell's performance with the Spirit Music Sextet in Montreux this year.

Me'Shell NdegéOcello is an extraordinarily gifted singer, bassist, songwriter and composer, and her mixture of funk, jazz, hip-hop, soul and reggae is truly one of its kind. Judge Jonathan says: If you haven't picked up one of her five albums, do it right away - you won't regret it.

Sites: The official site; Freemyheart - the definitive guide to Me'Shell (and more).

Albums: Planation Lullabies (1993); Peace Beyond Passion (1996); Bitter (1999); Cookie: The Anthropological Mixtape (2002); Comfort Woman (2003).
