I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around,
and don't let anybody tell you different

The Google Earth isn't flat

Googlist has a nice overview on yet another Google purchase, SketchUp. In short: Google might be planning to map the earth in 3D. Check out Googlist's screencast demo to understand what that means.

Of course, Google's plans don't stop at the global level: it has already mapped Mars, and judging by the domain names Google Inc. has registered, it's planning to expand all the way to Pluto, mapping every planet on its way ("Google Galaxy Starts With Mars").

Now if I could only get Google Earth to run on my crappy old VAIO.
