I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around,
and don't let anybody tell you different

Leaving NY (the song, stupid)

Okay, forget all the talk about how to interpret Around the Sun, the title of R.E.M.'s upcoming album - we're finally getting a real taste!

Though only 30 seconds long, this snippet of the album's first single, Leaving New York, sounds more than promising... and trust me, I'm not just saying this because the title of the song basically describes what I'll be doing, for better or worse, next Wednesday.

"It's easier to leave than to be left behind..."
R.E.M., Leaving New York

you're right, sounds promissing...

but don't forget:
"...and it's even easier to leave and return home."
